Young girls win basketball match in Vienna, Austria

21.03.2018

The 21st of March 2018 was an unforgettable day for the girls of 2a, 2b and 2g from Theodor Kramer school. They took part in the Vienna junior girls’ basketball finals and all participants were anxious to win gold, silver or bronze medals.

At approximately 7:10am the group of players left school. When they arrived at Vienna Stadthalle they got themselves ready to play the match. Classes from different schools came to cheer on their various teams. Students from Theodor Kramer also came and could be heard in the background screaming, “LET’S GO THEO, LET’S GO! “

At the line-up the players greeted the match delegates, their opponents and wished each other good luck with enthusiasm.

Theodor Kramer was leading in the first quarter, the second half became very spectacular as their opponent Kundmanngasse caught up and almost won the third quarter. At the end of the day, Theodor Kramer eventually won first place and went home with the gold medal for the second year in a row.

Alongside the medals were a certificate and a bracelet for each player. Their coach was so proud and told them, “You girls made me happy, I`m so proud of you“, she also said they had done a great job.

At the end of the game the other players congratulated the winning team.

After their win, they went celebrating with their schoolmates by buying themselves some snacks at Lugnercity. The girl happily shared the news of their win back at school. They hope to win the next year´s final match, so they will be able to compete for Vienna in the national „ Bundesmeisterschaft“.

Thank you!
