5a Technical Museum physics outing

02.09.2025

Our assignment was to find the top 10 personally best exhibits on each floor, and take pictures of them, then list them from best to worst, and write a short description of the top 2 of each floor. We had about two hours to explore. Here are some of our experiences

One of our favourite parts of this experience was having the freedom to look at the objects we were most interested in without having to walk in a group. This was like scrolling through Tik-Tok, but we had to walk (around 16000 steps) instead. According to the official website there are more than 20000 objects displayed to many different technical topics. Some of the stations were interactive like the slide for velocity, or the thermal camera that took group pictures and sent it to us by email. Here are some of our absolute favourite stations: Treadwheel, news anchor, plasma ball, VR bird, wheelchair simulator, Karotz robot, hot air balloon, walking into the steam locomotive, thermal camera, VR gondola, Mercedes Benz W196 Formula1 racing car.

It is fascinating to see the inventions made at various times in history. Especially when considering the level of available technology. Many stations had easy to understand videos explaining how they worked. The museum is appropriate for ages 8 and up. Younger kids would need guidance.

The assignment helped to make our impressions into memories.
